Since 2005 the Institute for Family Services has been bringing together health practitioners, and therapists, community activists and organizers, educators, faith and community leaders, students and more for dialogue and inquiry focused on a system of relational healing that embraces critical consciousness, empowerment, and accountability.

The Rev. Dr. Carmen Lansdowne is a member of the Heiltsuk First Nation. An indigenous scholar, she holds a PhD from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, CA. She writes and speaks on issues of indigenous and intercultural theology, urban ministry, and systemic injustice. Dr. Lansdowne first presented at LBHC in Austin Texas in 2010 with her newly born son, Gabriel.
