British Columbia has some of the highest rents in Canada and is the eviction capital of the country. While this has led to an increase in homelessness and displacement for people from all walks of life, we’ve seen that it disproportionately impacts BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals.
Free Housing Rights Workshops
We offer a series of free workshops on housing tights, open to all participants. These sessions are designed to empower tenants with knowledge and tools to navigate housing challenges. They also provide valuable information for staff in organizations that support tenants, equipping them to better assist the community they serve in facing issues arising out of their housing situation.
Topics include:
- How to Fight Eviction
- Rights in Supportive Housing
- Rights in Repair and Maintenance
- Does Your Landlord Owe You Money?
These workshops are open to everyone and have been well-received by attendees. They are currently being held in person and virtual workshops may be available in the future. We encourage you to attend and share the word with others who may benefit from these informative workshops.
